Let me show you what I've been working on:
Aren't they cute?! I gifted the purple one to one of our young friends and she was sooo in love with it :-)
I'm going to make a confession: I have always been intimidated by wallet and bag making. No more! They are super easy to make! And it's rewarding to see an end result so quickly. Would you like to make your own wallets? All you need is one afternoon and good instruction. I have just the right resource for you.
Deby Coles teaches a class called Sewing Wallets: Step by Step on the Bluprint platform. I followed her instructions and was able to make these wallets in no time. If you're a beginner, this is a great place to start. I know you will appreciate her pace and clear directions.
Even as a professional seamstress I really enjoyed her class and learned some new techniques. I loved that each lesson built on the skills learned in the previous lesson and that the patterns could be customized. For example, for the red floral wallet, I opted to put extra card pockets instead of a zipper pocket.
I absolutely can't say enough about Bluprint (formerly Craftsy). I have learned so much that I've been able to use in my career. I literally spent hundreds of dollars on classes but now you can access the entire Bluprint library for only $7.99/month or $79.99/year and for each month, you get to keep a class of your choice forever. Or, if you just want to purchase an individual class, you can do that too. If you're looking to learn to sew or just improve your skills, you won't regret it.
